Only in Bulgaria exists the specific healthy bacterium lactobacillus bulgaricus which could turn the milk into yoghurt. And the result is a unique milk product which is very tasty and healthy, rich in proteins and calcium. It could be consumed as a dessert, with different fruits or as sauce in some salads. Drinking Bulgarian Yoghurt mixed with water in summer is a very refreshing beverage that helps overcome the hot weather.
A youghurt dish is obligatory included in the meals in Bulgaria guided tours.
