Pitka - Small round loaf with spicy salt
This is traditional Bulgarian home-made bread. In Bulgarian it is called pitka- a round loaf of bread.
There isn’t anything more delicious than home-made bread. In Bulgarian language it is called pitka - a round loaf of bread. Its taste and aroma, especially when it is warm, are really wonderful.
There is a tradition in Bulgaria guests to be welcomed with such home-made pitka sprinkled with some salt – a sign of Bulgarian hospitability. Bulgarians use traditional salt which consists of salt mixed with different spices: red pepper, savory, fenugreek. And it puts a special taste to the home-made bread.
