One of the most attractive places during sightseeing tour in Veliko Tarnovo is Samovodska Charshia. It is situated in the Old Quarter and was a famous street market in XIXc. Many craftsmen worked there and offered their handmade products to the passers-by: coppersmiths, knife smiths, blacksmiths, potters, confectioners and others. A walking tour in Samovodska Charshia will introduce you to Bulgarian crafts traditions and will show you how people here lived during the National Revival.
Besides the craftsmen’s shops, the Samovodska Charshia street impresses with its traditional architecture. Houses are restored and some of them are museums.
