The festival of Bulgarian bagpipes music began in Gela, Bulgaria on 5 of August 2012
The tenth festival of Bulgarian jura and kaba bagpipes music began in Gela, the Rodopes Mountain, Bulgaria on 5 of August 2012. The same day Sunday is the patron gathering congregation day of Gela.
The famous 101 Bulgarian kaba bagpipes orchestra opened the festival by loud music. The contest was about three age groups by a performance of 5 till 7 minutes music piece for the individuals and groups up to six musicians.
The international participants were from Finland, Greece and Hungary. Unlike the Scottish bagpipe and the Bulgarian jura bagpipe, which sound at a higher pitch, the kaba gaida bagpipe has a lower pitch.
The tourists of tours to Bulgaria joined 9,000 musicians and tourists in the festival of Bulgarian jura and kaba bagpipes music 2012 in Gela.
