The harvest of roses in Bulgaria in 2011 |
The Ministry of Agriculture of Bulgaria expected to see a harvest of 1,500 kg of rose blossoms in Bulgaria in late May and early June 2011. |

The ministry estimated that there were 35,000,000 square meters of land of plants of roses for oil in Bulgaria and the average 300 kg of rose blossom can be harvested from 1,000 square meters of land of plants of roses. |

One gram of oil of rose is produced from 1,000 pieces of rose blossoms.
One kilogram of oil of roses is produced of 3,000 kg of rose blossoms.

The rose pickers gather the rose blossoms only in the very early morning between 4 and 7 o’clock in the morning only in the period of time between the last week of May and the first week of June. |
|
Only then at dawn and sun rise the qualities of the rose blossoms are the best.
The expected price of one kilogram of oil of roses is 4,500 euro on the world market.
