UNESCO added an extended part of Pirin Park, Bulgaria to its World Heritage List
The UNESCO session in Brasilia in August 2010 added an extended larger part of around 40,000 ha of Pirin Natural Park, Bulgaria to its World Heritage List.
The Pirin Natural Park, Bulgaria spread over an area of over 27,000 ha, at an altitude between 1,008 and 2,914 m in Pirin Mountains, Southwestern Bulgaria,
and the Pirin Natural Park comprises diverse mountain landscapes with rocks, glacial lakes, caves and coniferous forests.
